Message from Lucretia

With the start of the month of February, I've been thinking about Valentines Day, when we openly celebrate our love for others.  OH, how much  fun I had as a youngster exchanging Valentines Day cards with my friends and teacher at school. Thinking back many years ago, I think I was in the third grade at the time, my mother and grandmother took me along with them to a Valentines Day Tea, with many of the women from our church in attendance. It just so happened that the hostess had fancy bowls of those colorful heart shaped candies with sappy sayings on them setting around. Well, my Grandma had a gentleman friend at that time so, me being me, I just couldn't resist the urge to tease my Grandma with them. If my memory serves me right my Mom might have been the instigator, who by the way cheerfully helped me pick out the best zingers. Thank goodness  my Grandma had a good sense of humor!  There are many types of love. The love that we share with our Children, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, friends, parents, and don't forget the romantic kind of love we share with our spouses. Then there is the love that we share with our heavenly father which goes deeper than any other.

Psalm 100:5 " For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.”

Here's a Sunday morning prayer for between when you get out of your car and when you sit down in the church sanctuary.

S    - is for Still Alive to attend church. Thank-you Lord

U    - is for  Undivided Attention, I'm expecting you to speak to my heart.

N    - is for Notice Me and whether the praise I offer is sincere.

D    - is for Don't Overlook the Needs of someone hurting. I will do what I can.

A    - is for Affirm Our Leaders. I'll let them know I'm behind them.

Y    - is for Your Kingdom- Come, Jesus Your will be done as it is in heaven.

May this be a good Sunday all around the world including right here.
Amen
